Workfacta
Workfacta is a small software start-up based in Adelaide's innovation district, Lot Fourteen. They make a web-based app centred around business management and streamlining meetings to increase efficiency. I was brought onboard initially as part of the marketing team to strengthen the brand and increase awareness.
My tasks during this time involved producing a style guide for the Workfacta brand, as well as creating a website from scratch in Wordpress. Initially I did not have much experience in web design, but in just a few months my marketing manager and I learned the skills needed and we launched the Workfacta website, which included a completely custom coded pricing comparison page I made. I would become the custodian of the site, teaching new members of the team how to make edits and updates. |
My tasks:
– Web Design – UI / UX Design – Branding – Iconography – Infographics – Social Media Management – Email / EDM Design – Motion Graphics |
As I continued working at Workfacta, my design tasks involved more than just marketing. I became involved with the application itself and worked closely with the development team when they requested my help on improving the interface and usability. This was my first experience in UI and UX and I found that I really enjoyed it. Many of my design skills were transferrable and the team was impressed at what I produced.

I would later be promoted from my initial junior design role, and tasked with working across brand, web, UI and UX for the Workfacta platform. The company funded a professional development course for me to learn more about UI design and I began to design and wireframe new features for the Workfacta app.
|
I learned a lot in the ways of UI and UX best practices, and how to make my digital designs responsive across mobile and desktop screen sizes.
Workfacta would later achieve a 4.4 / 5 star rating on Capterra and a 4.7 / 5 star rating on AppSumo. |
